On September 8, the ANSWER Coalition joined a broad coalition of progressive groups to organize a major demonstration in Los Angeles as part of the national Rise for Climate Day of Action. The action demanded: the permanent shutdown of the AllenCo oil drilling site; the Archdiocese to stand for environmental justice, not fossil fuel profits; 2,500-foot health and safety buffer to protect our communities; and a just transition to a clean energy economy.
